Home transcription work (medical transcription) is a process of transcribing the physician’s recorded notations into the patient’s medical record. This job can be a wonderful home job especially for stay at home parents. Being that this is a profession that allows you to make money online legally, you have to be aware of scams. Training Involved / Be Careful

Because there are so many people looking to work this job at home, there are many companies out there who will offer quick low value education with a very high price tag. And this is where your research should begin when wanting to learn how to do home transcription work. Many workers are involved when it comes to getting the job done in regards to medical transcription. Companies who profit off of medical transcription work will contract out jobs for different hospitals. The transcription notes will be left with these companies and then that’s where you come in. These companies will hire you to transcribe these notes from home. Many of these jobs have been found to be legitimate.

Skills Needed

· Strong knowledge of the language you are transcribing
· Computer efficiency
· Detail orientated
· Ability to seeing a task through
· Excellent listening skills
· Ability to work with no supervision

Familiarization Needed with the Following (but not limited to):

· Physical exams
· History of patient illnesses
· Patient progress reports
· Emergency room notes / occurrences
· Physician’s referrals
· Doctor’s notes
· Radiology / Pathology notes
· Doctor’s consultation notes
