Work at Home Scams
This post was mainly created to give you an overview of what all work at home scams have in common. I will further mention the types of scams out there on a later post. Most work at home scams always sound too good to be true and make promises of granting much money in a short time without much work on your end.
Lets first look at a typical job outside of the home:
Charging a fee to work
Is it typical for companies to charge a fee to their employees before they start working? Of course not. So why would you expect anything different from a job that you work at home? There is no difference. Companies who hire people to work from home are usually trying to save money and should never charge you a fee before you work.
Promising BIG money for doing something simple (Wouldn’t everyone be rich??)
Will stuffing envelopes at a company make me rich? Then why believe the hype about these type of jobs working from home? Again–if it sounds too good to be true…it probably is another scam.
Work at home jobs versus Business Opportunities
Some business opportunities will charge a fee up front, however, you should get all the information you need in return in order to become a successful business owner. Work at home jobs should always be looked at as any typical job in the workplace; however, business opportunities will allow you to become your own boss with a minimal or large up-front investment.

Type a company in your favorite search engine (Google, MSN, Yahoo) and look to see if there is any negative publicity in regards to the work you’re trying to do and the company who is supplying it. Many times if someone was majorily ripped off by a so-called opportunity, it will be well publicized.
